Girls‘ Day 2023 at BT-Anlagenbau

Because careers don't care about gender

The idea of Girls’ Days originated in the U.S. on this “Take our daughters to work” day, held annually since 1993, schoolgirls would originally visit their parents, relatives or acquaintances at their workplace and thus gained an insight into their professional activities. In Styria, Girls’ Day has been held since 2004, with the actual aim of offering girls the opportunity to spend one day gaining an insight into technical and scientific trades and companies, the majority of which are dominated by men.

BT-Anlagenbau was among the companies that took advantage of this opportunity and welcomed a group of interested schoolgirls on 27.04.2023. The girls were presented the job opportunities at BT-Anlagenbau in a very practical way via impressive project videos and a tour of the company. From 3D electrical engineering of switch cabinets, programming of automated machines and controls, ERP system support, business travel and quality management as well as goods handling to technical purchasing and after sales, the visitors were able to get to know a wide variety of departments, all of which were presented by female employees of BT-Anlagenbau. Following further interesting stations in the production hall, the students took the opportunity to test their own dexterity in wiring switch system elements. They were supported by BT-Anlagenbau trainees who explained their own path and goals at BT-Anlagenbau to them in the process.

Managing Director Gerald Kreiner also freed up some time to answer the potential future employees’ questions and providing them with advice from his own experience and personal tips for their future careers. After all, it is precisely at the age of 13 to 14 that important decisions are made for one's personal and professional future.
