Gleinalm Tunnel receives control cabinets for its second tube

On 20 December 2019 the second, long awaited tube of the Gleinalm Tunnel will be opened. As far back as early March BT-Anlagenbau delivered the required control cabinet on schedule.

Thousands of work hours, 900,000 spare parts and 800,000 metres of copper wire or copper rails with a total weight of 28 tonnes thus went into the large-scale project. Furthermore the road tunnel connecting the districts of Leoben and Graz-Umgebung on the A9 Phyrnautobahn motorway is now home to the 10,000th control cabinet that has left the production halls of BT-Anlagenbau. The cooperation between the Styrian companies
BT-Anlagenbau and Dürr Austria GmbH serving as general contractors for the entire electro-mechanical equipment of the Gleinalm Tunnel was not the first, but the first one of this size.

As always, the main focus was on generating value within Austria as well as strict quality assurance. Punctual time management and the exclusive use of highly trained specialists contributed to the project’s high delivery quality. This marks the end of a large-scale project for BT-Anlagenbau and the beginning of a more relaxed passage through the Gleinalm Tunnel for more than 21,000 car drivers every day.
