HTL Weiz Polytechnic receives award at the IMST network day.

Teaching projects in Styrian schools that are particularly innovative have been awarded prizes at the IMST Network Day. The HTL Weiz was the only Polytechnic in Styria to receive awards for two projects. The IMST network day (Innovations Make Schools Top) took place on February 27th, 2020 in Graz and this year brought a number of surprises with it.

These included the robotic projects under the direction of Prof. DI Anton Edl of the HTL Weiz. The jury panel were so impressed by the projects that two of them were cited for recognition. Prof. Edl received the award together with three of the students. In addition, the life-size, humanoid robot „Dr. inMoov“ took part in the prize giving and demonstrated what it can do.

Known affectionately as „Dr. inMoov “, behind it are:

  • Some 2.000 working hoursA set of parts made exclusively by 3D printing in-house
  • 26 servo motors for excellent mobility
  • two cameras and microphones for communication

All of us at BT-Anlagenbau wish to congratulate the successful team on winning this award!
