Magna was able to start up the new car body facility and SKD centre after a construction time of only 9 months. As part of the official opening ceremony, on 10 February 2017, 50 invited guests were able to cast an expert eye over the new facilities in Graz.
This project included dismantling and disposal of a substantial 300 tonnes of old components, processing of 720 tonnes of steel, cladding 4000 m2 of building façades, installing 250 running metres of ceiling lights, assembling some 100 switchgear and control cabinets, mounting of 1200 sensors, and laying an unbelievable 85 km cables for the electrical system. And to protect the plant there are now over 2000 additional sprinkler heads. Experts from BT-Anlagenbau installed 200 conveyor units and 400 drives from the AAT company and put them into operation with 400 frequency converters.

This gives Magna a boost in performance and flexibility, that is hard to beat. The management is very proud of the great project implementation and wishes to congratulate the business areas on this success!
