The ECE-LOGistik-Team Austria had an exciting and at times, nail-biting trip to the finals of the RoboCup in China. Manuel Lux, Georg Kogler, Wolfgang Schafzahl, David Zechmeister and Alexander Schalk, students from the Electrical Engineering department of the Higher Technical Institute (HTL) Weiz, spent a whole year preparing to defend their world title with their teacher and coach Anton Edl, and recently flew out to China for the competition.
They played to win, but on the first day a software error of the organizers plunged them into despair. An appeal was fruitless; the system was not changed.
But the team showed that they hadn‘t qualified for China for nothing. Through the night and into the next morning they worked to integrate the software problem and adapt their creations perfectly to the prevailing conditions in the host country.
No wonder then that on the second day, they won all their games and the world champion title ‘CoSpace Rescue Super Team’. For the fifth time in a row the students of HTL Weiz win the RoboCup!
BT-Anlagenbau, main sponsor of ECE-LOGistik-Team Austria, congratulates the tam on this hard-fought and well-earned victory and hopes to enable another trip to the host country in 2016.
